MLF stands for Maria Lucrezia Felice.
I have studied History of Art for more than 12 years, through scholastic studies, a BA in History of Art and of Architecture (at Manchester University) and further specific courses on the territory. The Tuscan region, culture, history and art are my passion. I was born in Wales to Italian parents, therefore I decided to use my bilingualism and knowledge of the two cultures to become a Licensed Tour Guide.
MLF Tuscan Tours originated from the will to bring together this passion and knowledge, placing them at the service of whoever would like to discover and get to know this region, maybe even better than its inhabitants.
With MLF Tuscan Tours I wanted to create an innovative and personalized guide. Groups, families, couples and friends can create a made to measure tour throughout personalized guided tours and the organization of stays and itineraries, with a professional and highly qualified service.
…because MLF Tuscan Tours is the best way to discover Tuscany!

*According to the Italian law Tour Guides and Tour Leaders are those who possess a specific qualification/license issued and recognized by the local authority. All others who do not possess this specific qualification/license are not legal Tour Guides/Tour Leaders, therefore can be fined and legally pursued.
Differences between Tour Guides and Tour Leaders:
In Italy there is a difference between these two professions, according to the Italian law, they both require two distinctive and separate licenses.
The Tour Guide is a licensed qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/museum in which he/she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the place required and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group.
(The tour guide is not a general guide for all sites, but has to obtain a license for each city and it’s province).
The Tour Leader (the person who accompanies the group to the sites) has a different professional license. They are with you throughout the whole trip and lead the group, giving them general information on the countries and cities/towns visited. They will help you with general guidance around a city/village, and give you information on the place visited on the bus, but they are not required to have specific knowledge on art architecture and history. They are not allowed to give a guided tour of the place once there and if caught doing so, they will be fined.
If the Tour Leader also has a license for Tour Guide, they can combine the two jobs by accompanying the tour to the place, giving general assistance and also a guided tour.
